Where we stop reading for volume and start reading for victory.
There is truly nothing like the Word of God. It is alive, breathing, and remarkably fresh. No matter how many times you’ve flipped through the pages of your Bible, there is always something new waiting to be pulled from the text.
But if we’re being honest, many of us approach our quiet time like a chore on a to-do list. We sit down, read our assigned chapter, and think, “Done. I did my reading.” The problem? When we read for volume, we miss the victory. I’ve spent years realizing that the secret to a deeper spiritual life isn’t necessarily reading more—it’s seeing more of what you read. One of my favorite things in the world is to sit with a passage and wait for a thought to hit me “upside the head.” That is where the life is. That is where we stop just “getting through” verses and start let the Light enter our darkness.
Stay. Savor. Marinate.
I created this space to share the studies that come out of those moments of discovery. You won’t find a “one-size-fits-all” chronological plan here. Instead, I’ve organized my writing into different topics—from deep theological foundations to the practical realities of daily life—all designed to help you slow down.
You will find that you get so much more out of a single, well-digested thought than you ever did from a dozen rushed chapters.
Let’s open the Word and see what’s waiting for us.
