I have to ask: What are you waiting for?
We’ve all heard it. Maybe you’ve even said it yourself: “I’m just waiting on God.” But what if I told you that while you’re sitting there waiting on God, could it be that God is waiting on you? I see it constantly—people who pray fervent prayers and then sit back and do absolutely nothing.
When I ask what the plan is, they give me that same spiritual-sounding shrug. Honestly, it makes me shake my head. It’s time to wake up.
What are you dreaming of? Whatever it is, it’s time to put legs on those dreams and start taking actual steps toward your future.
Without vision and goals, we go nowhere. If you don’t have a purpose to wake up for, you have nothing to look forward to. You don’t need a million dollars or a perfect scenario to begin; you just need to start small and start where you are. Some people use the “rapture” as an excuse for laziness. They think, “Jesus is coming back any second, so what’s the use in building anything?” But look at the Word:
“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” — Luke 19:13 (KJV)
Jesus didn’t tell us to sit on the curb and watch the sky; He told us to occupy. The Scriptures are overflowing with lessons on building, planting, and working. We are called to have plans and goals. It’s not time to quit on living—it’s time to actually start!
There’s an old saying: “Don’t be so heavenly minded that you’re of no earthly use.” Instead, we need to be Kingdom minded. When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we say:
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.” — Matthew 6:10 (ASV)
God’s will is for His Kingdom to be reflected here, through us. We are called to be the light in a dark place and examples of His power. But how can we be examples of God’s power if we’re stuck on the couch or sitting in a chair watching television or staring at the waiting for a move we aren’t willing to participate in?
If you want to see a change, you have to change your input and your output:
Stop speaking negative garbage. Negative talk drives away blessings and, frankly, it drives away people, too.
Start speaking God’s Word. When you align your speech with His promises, that’s when you’ll see the miracles, the financial turnarounds, and the blessings that “run you over” rather than run away from you.
Let’s get real for a second: I hear people say they can’t get up or move because they can’t breathe, yet they’ve got a cigarette or a vape constantly lit. STOP. You cannot take control of your future while you are actively sabotaging your present.
Time is short. Every single one of you has a talent, a gift, or a spark that God placed inside you. It is time to use it.
Your Action Plan for Today:
Define the Goal: What has God put on your heart?
Commit the Work: Don’t just think about it; do something tangible.
Trust the Promise: “Commit thy works unto Jehovah, and thy purposes shall be established.” — Proverbs 16:3 (ASV)
Stop waiting for a sign and start being the sign. Get up, get moving, and occupy!
